Masarifi — Privacy Policy

Masarifi is an offline-first, private expense tracker. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking, and no server that collects your data. This policy explains where your data lives and the few cases where the app touches the internet — always at your explicit action, and never collected by us.

What we store — and where

All your transactions, categories, budgets and goals are stored only on your device (in the app's local storage). We run no server that receives or holds this data. Uninstalling deletes it; use the in-app Backup export to keep a copy.

Bank SMS

When auto-import is enabled, bank SMS text is parsed on your device only to extract the amount and merchant. Messages and their contents are never sent anywhere.

Camera & Face ID

Receipt photos are captured and read entirely on-device via Apple's technology. Face ID is used only to lock the app; we never access it.

The only internet connection — exchange rates

To convert foreign currencies to AED, the app fetches the daily public exchange-rate table from open.er-api.com. No personal or financial data is sent — only the request for the rate table. The app works without this using the last saved rates.

iCloud backup

If you pick an iCloud Drive folder for backups, a copy of your data is saved to your own iCloud account via Apple. We do not access it.

Children

The app is not directed to children and collects no personal data.
