Bloom — Privacy Policy

Bloom is a pour-over coffee brewing companion. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of our own collecting your data. This policy explains where your data lives and the very little that ever leaves your device.

Stored on your device

Your brew methods, brew history, ratings, notes and settings are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Bluetooth & your scale

Bloom connects to your coffee scale (Acaia) over Bluetooth to read live weight and flow rate while you brew. These readings are processed on-device in real time and are never sent anywhere.

Recipe import (camera & photos)

Recipe cards and PDFs are read entirely on-device using Apple's text-recognition technology. Images and their contents are never uploaded.

Community methods (iCloud)

Browsing, rating and publishing community methods uses Apple's public iCloud database — we run no server. When you publish, the display name you enter and the recipe content are stored in the public database and visible to everyone. Ratings and reports are tied to your iCloud identifier by Apple to prevent duplicates; that identifier is never shown to anyone. You can delete anything you published from inside the app at any time.

No analytics, no third parties

We use no analytics, tracking or advertising tools, and we share no data with any third party.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data.
